Candle Safety

Always use proper candle care and safety when burning your candles.

Trim wick to 1/4th in. before lighting EACH and EVERY TIME you light your candle.  This helps to eliminate smoking and enhances the scent throw.
Keep all debris matches, wicks and flammable objects out of your candle.

Let a container candle burn for at least 1 hour for each inch of diameter that your candle is.(ex. 2in. diameter let it burn for 2 hours.)   and so on.   This helps your candle to create a melt pool all the way across the top of the container so that your candle burns evenly and straight down the sides of your container
.  Your candle has a memory and the first time you burn it,  sets the memory of that candle.. hence if you burn a 3 in. diameter candle for 1 hour without achieving a successful melt pool all the way across the top of the jar then the next time you light that candle it's only going to burn to where it stopped the first time.. This causes your candle to tunnel straight down the center.  If you don't have time to let the candle burn for the proper amount of time the first time you light it then,  don't light it.!  You will be more pleased with your candle if you burn it properly.

Never leave burning candles unattended. Never Never light a candle and go to bed!!!!!!!!

Keep away from children and pets at all times.  A candle is hot wax.  Hot wax burns!!!!!!!

Always burn on a level heat resistant surface away from curtains and flammable objects.

Never try to move a lit candle.  Always wait untill the candle has cooled before you move it or put the lid on it.

Never burn a candle in a container that has a chip or a crack in it.

Never burn a candle in a draft it causes the candle to burn unevenly, lowers the burn time and causes it to smoke.

Place votives in a snug fitting contaner before burning as they tend to liquefy.

Let a pillar candle burn only long enough to melt it to the outer edge of the candle then put it out.  This will train your candle to burn straight down the center and leave the outer edge to form a wall to hold the melted wax.  It's sort of opposite to the container candles.  Always set a pillar candle in a candle dish or some other container to prevent the
wax from getting on countertops or furniture.
